FERPA Notice

Last updated: March 2026

ConductIQ is currently in development. Availability is scheduled for the 2026–2027 school year.

What is FERPA?

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. It gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records, which transfer to students when they reach the age of 18 or attend a school beyond the high school level.

Schools and districts are responsible for complying with FERPA. When schools use service providers to support instruction or operations, FERPA permits disclosure of education records under specific conditions.

ConductIQ's Role

When a school or district contracts with ConductIQ, the platform operates as a service provider supporting legitimate educational interests. Under FERPA, schools may designate vendors as “school officials” when:

  • The vendor performs a service for which the school would otherwise use employees,
  • The vendor is under the direct control of the school regarding use and maintenance of education records, and
  • The vendor uses student information only for authorized educational purposes.

ConductIQ accesses and processes student data solely to provide behavior tracking, reporting, intervention support, and related services requested by the school.

ConductIQ does not sell student data.
ConductIQ does not use student data for advertising.
ConductIQ does not use student data to train artificial intelligence models.

Student information is only used to operate and improve the services provided to the contracting school.

What Data We Access

ConductIQ stores and processes education records provided by the school, which may include:

  • Student name and school affiliation
  • Grade level and homeroom assignment
  • Behavioral incident records (date, code, staff member, internal and parent-facing comments)
  • Intervention plans, notes, meetings, and progress monitoring logs
  • Risk modeling data derived from behavioral records
  • Parent or guardian contact information entered by the school

ConductIQ does not collect Social Security numbers, medical records, or special education documents. The system may include indicators (such as IEP or 504 flags) when entered by authorized school staff.

Data Access and Control

All student records within ConductIQ remain under the control of the contracting school or district.

Access to data within the platform is restricted by role and organization. Teachers, counselors, and administrators can only access student information within their assigned organization and according to their role permissions.

Parents and eligible students should contact their school directly to:

  • Inspect or review education records
  • Request corrections
  • Ask questions about record disclosures

ConductIQ processes student data at the direction of the school and does not independently modify or release education records.
